One of the very few weddings I was able to capture in 2020.
Much smaller than planned, and with lots of changes having to be made against expectations, but in turn a more unique and special day than ever could have been planned.
Yasmin’s sister did the wedding make-up…along with much of the planning, catering and decor – but every single guest had their own part to play, almost the whole wedding was planned, created and took place with friends and family alone. A first for me to capture, and what a treat.
Everyone came together to create the most personal and magical day
Samuels parents and other family members live in New Zealand and so were sadly unable to make it over, this was of course a big downside, but with todays technology, Yasmin’s brother and partner had a full set up for everyone to view the wedding live online, along with the speeches later in the day.
Yasmin said they had asked a florist in New Zealand to match the flowers they were having here and send some to Samuels family on the day, which I thought was such a lovely touch! Letters and photos and lots of other things were sent to each other, including some emotional (and funny) video messages to be included in the speeches. They were able to FaceTime after the ceremony too!
Yasmin’s dad is the vicar of their local church so was able to marry Yasmin and Samuel himself, along with another special vicar friend – it was an extra special ceremony for them all.
Later all the guests helped to put everything together at the village hall – it had such a pretty, cosy feel. Centrepieces had been hand made, the cake was made by Yasmin herself and decorated by a family friend – there were so many thoughtful little touches.
The food was prepared by Yasmin’s sister, mum and Sam and it was amazing. Thank you so much for inviting me to have some too, and actually to everyone for really looking after me throughout the day!
Despite all the challenges and obstacles they faced everything came together for a truly heartfelt and unforgettable day.
Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your day and for making me feel so very welcome throughout.
You have very special friends and family, and your bonds were very warming to see.
Wishing you all the best for your future together – the look of love in both of your eyes says it will be a good one xx
