Karla and Spencer – Glen Lodge Bawburgh Wedding

Wow! What a wedding.

Despite all the challenges Karla and Spencer faced they were determined to become Mr and Mrs Jones and enjoy their day no matter what.

Following a new restriction announcement only days before their wedding, Karla and Spencer decided last minute that in order to celebrate with the guests that they had already needed to cut down once they were going to bring the date forward a week.

You would never had known this was the case, (..except for having the date printed on lots) Everyone pulled together and everything was perfect.

It was my first wedding back and I was so excited to be capturing this day.

Despite the rain, the rules, and all the changes, Karla and Spencer proved that all you really need is Love – this was an awesome wedding!

Glen Lodge were fantastic. Providing a stunning and safe venue and all the staff were excellent throughout. Epic Events Norfolk are to thank for the beautiful decor

I hope that if you are due to get married soon or are wondering whether to, that this will be inspiration and encouragement for you.

Things may be different to your initial expectations but sometimes the best things happen when you least expect

This is history in the making captured and will be a story to tell for years to come,

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Jones! Your day was brilliant to capture, full to the brim with love, laughter and emotion. This is just a small snippet from the story of your day xx

Joey and Eva, Earlham Park

Great things happen when unplanned

As a photographer I spend lots of time taking photos for others, but neglect our own…don’t get me wrong, I have thousands of snapshots on my phone of all sorts of lovely little moments, I just don’t often get out my ‘proper’ camera and make time for our own little shoots, and I really wanted to get some special ones for the walls.

The day I finally thought about taking my camera out on one of our walks, it was so grey I almost just left it at home for another time. We were still going anyway, so thinking maybe I’ll just get a few today, I took it along….

It was so relaxed, and I was able to really capture lots of character and natural shots just watching them play.

We had an unexpected burst of Autumn light just as we were coming out from the ‘dark tree den’ and I got one of my favourite shots ever of them just walking over towards the sun!

Eva found her very own Stick Man, and Joey tried lifting the biggest ‘sticks’ (trees!) he could find. They kicked leaves, climbed fallen tree trunks, and walked hand in hand together – it was so lovely watching them just enjoy the outdoors. Always different, unplanned and Free! and seems to be the best kind of fun!

Eva got a little annoyed that she couldn’t climb the same tree as high as Joey, but he turned it into an entertaining show for her and she was then laughing away…more lovely surprise photos….thank you Joey. They found a huge branch that was turned into a see saw, and a pumpkin – or ‘bumpkie’ as Eva would call it in a tree.

These are from two separate walks, but both at Earlham park last week as they really wanted to go back again. Joey really wanted a photo of him giving Eva a hug and a kiss at the end of the walk but that only happens on Evas terms – so instead we got a funny Eva Diva expression!

The Rice Family,

Natural family portraits at home in Norwich, Norfolk

I felt so privileged to be invited back to take photos of James and Carla for the third time….

I captured their wedding day, family photos when two became three, and just recently, their new arrival.

They are such a lovely family, full of laughter and love and a joy to work with.

Leo’s full of personality and expression, and we had lots of fun capturing him and his new baby sister, Evie. What an amazing big brother he is, an instant bond.

Evie’s so tiny, so beautiful, and being newborn was a perfect little model. I say it every time but you just forget how tiny weeny they really are in those first few weeks.

Amongst the snuggle up family photos there was a bit of dancing going on – to a very “popular” song – bet you can’t guess what it was!?! (I don’t thank you for giving me that on repeat on my head all day!)

Ahh, Thank you Carla and James, I hope you enjoy them…..And I really hope to continue capturing future chapters of your YOURstory xx

Kimberly and Sam – The Norfolk Mead Hotel.

I was so pleased to be asked to capture this wedding! Kim and I went to school together so it was all the more special to be a part of.

I knew Kimberly would look lovely, but she exceed all expectations and looked absolutely stunning in her unique dress. I’m pretty sure Sam thought so too.

The Norfolk Mead Hotel looked beautiful as always and had an extra sparkle in the the sunshine that we were treated too.

The morning was very calm on the brides side (with a few last minute rushes – as to be expected!) and on the grooms side too – with some shots being ‘enjoyed’ at the bar.

It was a pretty big moment when Kimberly and her bridesmaids took the walk through the gardens to meet Sam – and the emotional build up and beauty of that caught many by surprise, including myself! and there were lots of tears all around!

The ceremony was bursting with love and giggles – which carried on throughout the whole day.

Everybody enjoyed some time in the sunshine, nibbling canapés and sipping bubbles, whilst we too lots of photos.

It was then inside for the meal and speeches – again very emotional (and again, catching me out!!) lots of laughter and lots of tears. I thought Sams speech to Kimberly was amazing, and also Kimberlys to Sam – a lovely surprise to everybody!

We were able to make full use of The Meads beautiful grounds, for some quiet moments between Kimberly and Sam

Kimberly and Sam are absolutely bursting with happiness and love and the whole day reflected this….here are some moments from their day – I hope you enjoy xx

Congratulation Kimberly and Sam, I’m so happy for you both xx

Megan and Mark, The Assembly House, Norwich, Norfolk

This is hands down the winner for the most fun had!

The ceremony and reception were held at the stunning Assembly House, in Norwich city centre. The team here are absolute masters at hosting, and the service received is always nothing short of excellent.

Pops of colour have just recently been added to the decor throughout lots of the rooms and it looks amazing. This was a perfect match to the colourful flower arrangements, and Megans most beautiful floral crown.

I’m not really sure where to start with the write up of this wedding!?!? (the same way I felt choosing the images for this blog!) So in short and I will just have to let you see I think…..

Handcuffs, Downpours, Emotional speeches, hidden scratch card surprises, the most amazing little escort to the bride, the sweetest of (never ending!) smiles, Ice cream, Norwich City, Harry Potter, Swinging, Red bottoms, Piggybacks, Umbrellas…..(and both at the same time!) a doughnut wall……

Here is a snippet of Megan and Marks day. I hope it will give you a little insight to the fantastic day it was,

Thank you Megan and Mark for allowing us to capture your day, for chancing the showers, and for being simply awesome!!
